Week in Preview
Daaaaaang finals are closing in. But it's the month of Adar, when our simcha is increased day by day. And Purim is next week, which, well... it's Purim!
So tonight, Friday March 10th, the Twelve Tribes Coop is hosting Shabbat services and dinner at their place (see entry below). Friday Night Live will be going off at the Chabad House. And everyone is invited to the JSN's Shabbaton at 116 Pearl Street, which will be going on all Shabbat and is free. Saturday, come for a special Torah reading, for a lavish Kiddush and lunch, and more. Seriously though, everyone is welcome, and these Shabbatons are getting better and better. People are actually coming from all over the Bay Area just for this one, so if you haven't come yet, check it out! And remember you heard it here first.
Saturday night, March 11th, Hillel's pre-Purim party on campus at Stevenson Fireside Lounge.
Sunday, March 12th, get some free Torah and breakfast with Rabbi Friedman. Also, if you like nature, hike with Hillel and the JSU, and if that doesn't excite you, Talia Coutin of the Leviathan will be there as well...
Come celebrate Purim with my homeboy, Chassidic reggae star Matisyahu, and Perry Farrel, Moshav Band, and more at Purimpalooza! There will also be a Purim party and Megillah reading at Chabad by the Sea.
Hit up Purim Express on campus for a quick 20-minute Megillah reading, receive a gift basket, and munch on some bagels & lox. Later in the evening, at 4:45PM, the CSC, AEPi, & SigmaAEPi present: Purim in the Jungle: Hot food, cold drinks, and, hey, it's a mitzvah to drink, and it's all free! I don't know if this is accurate, but it looks like Hillel is still planning on having a free barbeque, and there is a SCIAC meeting planned in the evening, all are welcome and invited to attend.
Wednesday, March 15th, Bagels, Lox & Torah with Shalom on campus, followed by Tacos and Talmud with Shlomie in the evening.
Thursday, March 16th, Yair Dalal featuring Dror Sinai will be at Don Quixote's in Felton.
And I leave you with this bizarre video. It's not tznius, it may be offensive, but mostly it's just bizarre; but at least they want "shalom b'Yisroel." Shabbat shalom!
