Spring '06 Jewish Independent Studies
In an announcement from Tammi Benjamin:
I wanted to let you know that this coming quarter (Spring '06) I will be offering the following 2 independent study classes, which can each be taken for two credits, or just audited:
1) Contemporary Anti-Semitism - Thursdays 10 - 11:30am. Students will read articles about contemporary anti-semitism in the Arab world, Europe and America, and will research, make presentations and write a short paper about selected research topics. The first meeting will be Thursday, April 6 in the Bay Tree Conference Center Room C.
2) Biblical Translation - Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:00 pm: This course will offer more biblical Hebrew translation practice for students having taken Hebrew 80 or intermediate Hebrew (Hebrew 4 and above). We will be focusing on translating narrative selections from the Bible. (This independent study can possibly be taken for 5 credits). The first meeting will be Wednesday, April 5 in the Bay Tree Conference Center Room B.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in coming to either or both of these independent studies, so I can order/prepare materials.
B'shalom,
Tammi
